The team

A graduate of Université du Québec's Département des Sciences juridiques and member of the Barreau du Québec since 1988, Me Martine Desroches opened her law practice in 1989. From the start, she devoted herself exclusively to administrative law, defending victims of crime, industrial and road accidents, and defending disability claims with the Régie des Rentes du Québec. In 1995, faced with a steadily increasing clientele, she hired Sophie Mongeon, then a young law student at the Université de Montréal.

Following her internship with Me Desroches, Me Sophie Mongeon was called to the Barreau du Québec in 1997, thereafter continuing her committed work with the same clientele.

There is strength in unity, and, in 2001, the two lawyers formed a partnership: Desroches, Mongeon. They have since moved into larger offices on rue Saint-Hubert. They have also hired support staff who are as sensitive as they are to the needs of victims.

In October, 2009, Me Noémie Thivierge, University graduate of Montreal and member of the Barreau du Québec since 2006, joined the team. She worked about 2 years at the Court of Appeal of Quebec to then open her own private practice. She also worked with other lawyers giving them assistance in research work. Also, Me Thivierge did some voluntary work with diverse organizations by informing a clientele, mainly discriminated, about their rights.

In January, 2010, Me Renaud Gauthier, University graduate of Quebec in Montreal and member of the Barreau du Quebec since 2007, joined the team. He has an experience and expertise in medical related law having worked previously for the service of administrative revision and for the legal services of the SAAQ. He is also a member of the board of the Café Graffiti which gets involved with youth in trouble.
